Messing With Eyeshadows

Hello Cheekies,

So I think eye shadow is a key when doing make up. It brings the whole look together but most importantly it brings out one of the prettiest features on any person, the eyes. The eyes are the feature that a person first looks at when meeting someone. Playing with eye shadows that compliment your eyes can make you eyes pop! Me personally I always look at peoples eyes first just because I think every color or shade or mixtures of colors are just so pretty. That being said I like to my eye shadow everyday and in doing so I figured out what shadow to use for what event. I want to show you two of my favorites. A casual with a twist and a classic smoky eye.

1)Funky Casual

I took my usual sparkly beige color and brushed the top of my lid and put a tad darker beige in the outer corner to ad a tad bit of definition to my eyes. I took some charcoal liner and lightly lined my upper lid. On my bottom lid. I took green liquid liner and started on the outer corner and came one thirds of the way in. I took my blue liquid liner and did the mid part and then I wet the tip of my eye shadow brush and dipped it in purple eye shadow to do the inner corners This turns a natural eye into something a bit more playful and fun. Making this be the focal point of the make up, will surely bring attention to the most beautiful feature of the face. This is especially good for spring and summer. You can also do different colors on the bottom. This would be a good look to do for a day out on the town with friends.

2) A bit Smokey for a Night Out

I love the smokey eye look, but me personally I just cant seem to pull off the really dark smokey so I do a lighter smokey. I use golds and light browns instead of darkbrowns and blacks. I took a champagne color and did the inner part of my eye and used a dark beige for the mid part and a rich brown on the outer corners. I took a blending brush and blended the color causing the smokey effect. I took black liquid liner and did a decent sized line on the top lash line and did a very light line starting from the outer corner of my bottom lash line to about the middle of the bottom lashes. I'd probably wear this look on a night out on the town with friends, or a fancy event. I think the smokey eye is a timeless classy yet playful look.

So I showed you two of my favorite ways to wear my eye shadows. I hope this gave you some ideas for your eye shadow.

A Look Inside My Closet

Hello Cheekies

I want to show you some of my favorite clothes that I have in my closet!
I will show you three items that I am wearing a lot this spring.
This will be my first edition and I will show three more in my next post.

During the fall/ winter I wore a lot of dark colors and I am trying to branch out this spring.
I am really liking patterns on clothes, whether it's stripes or floral print.

This cute red lip shirt is from "Papaya" (of course)
I love red lips already, so having a shirt with them all over is definitely a plus.
Wearing a shirt with a bright print like this one requires minimum jewelry since it is already the center of attention. The best makeup to wear is RED LIPSTICK!
I just paired it with simple black skinny jeans from "H&M."

This is one of my favorite spring dresses form "Target."
I like the blue vertical strips that makes me look taller. The soft blue color is perfect for spring or summer.
And to accentuation the waist, there is a bow that ties.
I am wearing a light pink lip color that goes with the pastel blue.

This shirt is also from "Papaya."
I have had this shirt for a while, and it is still one of favorites because of the blue jean material on the top and down the middle.
When I wear this shirt, I like putting my hair in a high ponytail or bun so you can see the blue jean collar.
I am just wearing skinny blue jeans with it.

Hope you enjoyed a look inside my closet!

Spring/ Summer Outfit

Hello Cheekies

Spring is finally here! It's time for warm weather and cute clothes.
I bought this outfit recently and thought it would be a great look for spring or summer.

I love pairing pastel colors with black or neutral colours to make the outfit pop without being too dramatic.
This look can be casual or dressy with the right accessories.

To bring the attention to the outfit, I put my hair up in a simple bun.
I chose a pink lip to go with the pastel shirt.

This would have to be one of my favourite spring/ summer looks because it is edgy and classy.
You don't need many accessories depending on how dressy you want it to be.
I just wore simple black hoop earrings.

This shirt is from Charlotte Russe.
I love the pastel pink color that is a great spring color.
The black triangles and ruffles makes the shirt interesting and unique.

These high- waisted shorts are also from Charlotte Russe.
Having high- waisted shorts can dress up any shirt and can give the allusion of longer legs.
I love the studs lining the pockets to give them a edgier look.

I paired this outfit with my pointed black flats from Papaya.
The studs on the back go well with the studded shorts.
To dress the outfit up even more you could trade the flats with wedges or any high heels.

Hope you enjoyed my spring/ summer outfit, and it helped you with ideas of your own outfit.

Pinterest Makeup Attempt

Hello Cheekies

Sorry its been so long since we've blogged, but guess what? here is a new post!!! So last night I had a case of pinsomina which is when a person can not sleep so they go on to pinterest and pin the night away. Does anyone else suffer from that or is it just me? Anyways it was about four A.M and I was just scrolling away through the beauty tab on Pinterest and I spotted this make up that I thought would be perfect for summer. So I decided to give it a try.

I love the subtle eye and the bold, bright pink, barbie lips. I feel like it makes her face really soft and feminine. So I went through my makeup this morning and I was glad to see I had pretty much everything. Whew-Hoo!  So here we go!

My Items I used.

First I started off cleansing my face with Clearasil Rapid Action Pads, it reduces any bumps and redness in just four hours. Then once that dried I applied my Revlon Photoready Airbrush Mousse Makeup, which I love, it leaves a natural glow to the skin!

I then applied Markwins Blush from the 2009 collection(left product in photo below), I wish I knew the names but sadly I don't. Anyways I used the lighter color then used the dark shade on top to give me a nice subtle rose pink cheek. They aren't very strong blushes which is great because my face is on the paler side so I usually don't wear blush because I end up looking like i was punched in the face. I love this blush though. Next I highlighted with the the Revlon mineral powder(right product in photo). I don't actually think it is a highlighter but it sure works as one. Yay! After I did my cheeks, I moved to my eyes. I started with the Loreal Earthscape Infinite eyewear (middle product in photo). I took the lightest color  in the top left corner and placed it on the inner corners of my eyes and lined the half of my bottom lash line of the inner corner. I then mixed the top right color with the bottom left color and applied that to the top lid. It gave me a nice warm golden color. I took the bottom left color and lined the rest of my bottom lashes. I then took the top left color and highlighted my brow bones.

After applying the powders I proceeded with the eye liner and the mascara. I did a thin line of Almay Liquid liner right on my tip lash line. It makes the lash base look a bit thicker. I then used my new Avon Super Shock Mascara. I am in love with this mascara. The brush seems to grasp every eye lash and not make it clumpy.

sorry for the blurry photo, my camera would not focus.

Look I can apply mascara without opening my mouth. It can be done!!!

So after that which was the subtle part of this makeup, I moved on to Lips. My favorite thing to accentuate is my lips. They aren't as plump as Ms. Angelina Jolie but mine are on the fuller side.

I used this Wet&Wild 511B which is Nouveau Pink. I bought this at walmart for $1 which was a really great investment! I applied this to my lips. Now in person its as bright as it looks but in the pictures below the bathroom lighting muted the lip color a bit.

Its kinda hard to see the color on the upper eye lid, I need better lighting, I know. But here it is the over all. You can see the lighter lined corners of my eyes and the dark lined part. My subtle blush and you can see the places of the highlighter. I really like how this turned out. It looks pretty close to the photo off Pinterest I think. I have so much fun doing my makeup. I encourage you lovely people to do your makeup in funky, classy, edgy, subtle, strong, or even bizarre ways, just have fun with it. Play with makeup even if you don't think you are good at it! Practice makes perfect right?

Xoxo- Sam

Summer Travels

Hello Cheekies,

Sorry we haven't blogged in a while, we have been trying to figure a few major things out.
After taking some time to think about what we should do this summer. We have decided to spend the summer traveling and meeting many new people. Even though we are broke we are not going to let that get in the way of our dreams like most people. We know that this what we are suppose to do with our lives and even if we rack up a shit ton of debt, we would have lived a life we were proud of which is the most important thing ever!!!!!! We are tired of feeling trapped here and feel like we must go out and see the world.
Our first stop on the map is going to be Orlando Florida, We are going to spend some time chilling on the beach and going to Disney World and more excitingly going to Universal Studios to go to Harry Potter World(we will post pictures, and yes we are buying wands...woooooo)

This is the first of many stops we will be making and we will put our next stop up after our adventure in Florida. We will put pictures and maybe some cheeky videos.
